Trip plan
Day 1 — Nashik to Ahmedabad
Drive to Ahmedabad via Surat; evening at the Sabarmati Riverfront.
Day 2 — Ahmedabad to Udaipur
Drive into Rajasthan; sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola.
Day 3 — Udaipur
City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Saheliyon ki Bari and an evening at Fateh Sagar Lake.
Day 4 — Ranakpur to Jodhpur
The marble Jain temple at Ranakpur, then on to Jodhpur.
Day 5 — Jodhpur to Pushkar
Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada and Umaid Bhawan Palace, then drive to Pushkar.
Day 6 — Pushkar & Ajmer to Jaipur
Brahma Temple and the Pushkar ghats, the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, then on to Jaipur.
Day 7 — Jaipur
Amber Fort, Jal Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal; evening in the old-city bazaars.
Day 8 — Jaipur to Chittorgarh
Drive to Chittorgarh and explore the hill fort — Vijay Stambh, Rani Padmini's Palace and Meera Temple.
Day 9 — Chittorgarh to Indore
Drive to Indore; evening at Sarafa Bazaar for street food.
Day 10 — Indore to Nashik
The drive home to Nashik.
Good to know: October to March is the best season — summer days in Rajasthan go well above 40 °C. Most forts and palaces need entry tickets, and a local guide makes the big forts far more interesting.
